NEXT Biometrics receives orders for new generation modules

NEXT Biometrics Group ASA has lately received a number of orders for it's new generation of fingerprint sensor modules. A total of 5 players in the US, Asia and Europe have in the course of May placed orders for NEXT sensors to be integrated in a range of traditional and new market formats.

The new modules labelled NB-1011, NB-2020 and NB-3010 are all based on the same sensor and fitted in modules tailored for various volume markets. They replace the first generation NEXT modules (the NB-1010) launched in 2014. The customers have ordered SDK's and sensors in modest volumes as part of their product development process. They all have requirements for large, high performance sensors and all target launch in H2-15 or H1-16.

Tore Etholm-Idsøe, CEO NEXT Biometrics said : "Having expanded our offering from 1 to 6 sensor modules we now meet the markets demand for various interfaces, colors and physical dimensions . All of the above customers have made it clear that they need the NEXT unique combination of quality sensor size at a very low price. Longer term these 5 new projects each represent 5 and 6-digit volume potential."
