NEXT Biometrics (NEXT), a leading provider of advanced thermal sensor technology, continues to develop and broaden its offering in the PC and notebook segment. In line with its growth strategy, NEXT has signed a strategic partnership with a new, Chinese partner which includes the sales of the partner’s touchpad products for the PC segment alongside NEXT’s own.
In line with its strategy, NEXT continues to develop and broaden its offering through relevant and selected partnerships. The recent agreement with a new Chinese partner means that NEXT will now be broadening its product portfolio by adding, and selling, the Partner’s touchpad products for the PC segment alongside NEXT’s own.
The Partner is an established company with a product portfolio covering the PC and Notebook segment. Through the partnership, NEXT expands its fingerprint sensor offering to a new and significant product segment. In this cooperation, NEXT also has a long-term target to develop and integrate the flagship NEXT Active Thermal® fingerprint sensors into a touchpad product for the first time.
Through the agreement, NEXT will also be growing its product portfolio to a new segment. NEXT is currently in dialogue with multiple new prospective customers and expects to announce new design wins and purchase orders during the next 3-12 months. The initial shipments are expected in the beginning of 2025.

Previously, NEXT announced a PC sensor product co-developed with industry leaders. The company also secured a design win with a large, technology company for providing NEXT Secure Bio fingerprint sensors for selected notebook models. NEXT’s sensor is a premium offering, which has already been selected by a top-tier PC OEM for multiple notebook platforms. In a PC environment, fingerprint sensors can be used for different purposes, such as to identify and authenticate the user or to activate certain functions.
